Traffic Jam at Airport

Normal travel time from Gurgaon to Domestic Airport is 30 minutes. On 18/10/2010, it took about 90 minutes to travel from Signature towers to Airport. Reason total jam on the highway right from signature towers to the airport by the traffic bound for airport.

My son had to walk from NH8 to the airport to catch the plane. You can imagine the situation, walking was much faster than the vehicular traffic movement. He could catch the plane only because he decided to walk down instead of travel in the car and because the plane was late by half an hour.

Reasons for the Jam:

  1. There is not sufficient space for parking the vehicles for disembarking of the passengers.
  2. Vehicles are not cleared fast enough at the airport after dropping the passengers. Whenever there is a build up of a queue of vehicles for disembarking of passengers, no vehicle should be allowed more than a minute to stand there.

Requirement:

It is high time for Airport Management Authority to take corrective action.
